Habitat for Humanity AmeriCorps Program

Now accepting applications for Habitat EKC’s 2010-2011 AmeriCorps team! Help us:

Habitat EKC has a 16 member team:

Volunteer Coordinator
VC recruits and schedules volunteers for the construction jobsites and the office, focusing on volunteer satisfaction across the Habitat EKC affiliate. VC tracks and reports monthly volunteers and data.

Construction Volunteer Lead
CVLs create a safe and productive day for the volunteers on the construction jobsite through supervision and training of daily construction tasks.

Sponsor Volunteer Support
The SVS helps organize and facilitate special events for sponsor groups and works with sponsor volunteers on the construction jobsites. SVS is responsible for sponsor appreciation and recognition.

Family Services
FS will work with Habitat Family Partners in their support of the Habitat Families who are working towards homeownership. FS members will work with FS Manager to coordinate family selections, Family Partner assignments and other committee work. FS monitors family progress in homeownership program alerting the FS Manager of any at-risk situations.

To Apply to the HFH EKC AmeriCorps Program:

1. FIRST:

a. Review the program overview.
b. Consider what makes this particular program appealing and a good fit for YOU!
c. This will be a socially and physically challenging 10 ½ months. Are you up for it?
d. How will you plan to live on the $1050 a month stipend?

2. Are you Ready? Complete an AmeriCorps application online :

a. Visit the National AmeriCorps website.
b. Next to Step One, select Housing from the drop down list.
c. Next to Step Two, Select Washington from the drop down list.
d. Our program is listed as Habitat for Humanity EKC, ID 5244.
e. Follow the sites directions from there and apply!

3. You should be contacted to schedule and interview and an overview of the program by email or phone 5 days after receipt of your application.

4.  Applications due by June 15th.

5. Acceptance notification by June 30th.

6. Complete enrollment paperwork due by August 1st (including a copy of your social security card, your passport OR driver’s license and birth certificate.)
