| | | |  | JobsConstruction ManagerPosition Summary Reporting to the Executive Director, the Construction Manager is responsible for the management, supervision, and execution of all aspects of Habitats construction program in a way that utilizes volunteer labor, provides maximum community involvement, and produces quality homes for low income families in a safe and affordable manner.
Duties and Responsibilities - Serves as staff liaison to the Construction and Site Selection Committees of the Board of Directors.
- Acts as project manager for all affiliate construction.
- Provides an overall construction plan, supervising the implementation and coordination of the plan through staff and volunteer House Leaders (including AmeriCorps/Vista).
- Obtains all permits and schedules required inspections.
- Coordinates and insures the timely procurement and delivery of building materials, including the use of in-kind donations.
- Maintains a safe and volunteer friendly work environment, working with staff and House Leaders to implement Habitats safety program: OSHA, crew leader and volunteer training, job site environment.
- Supports new land acquisition opportunities, directs due diligence efforts, coordinates preliminary and final site design and architectural/engineering designs, supports grant and fund raising efforts with budget, schedule and design information.
Minimum Job Requirements - Commitment to Habitats housing ministry goals.
- Ten years experience in the construction industry with demonstrated construction management responsibility.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to relate to people of different races, faiths and incomes.
- Ability to work with volunteers, Board members, staff and building officials.
