Microsoft Contest: 7 Ways to Change the World!

Here’s a fun way to express your creativity and help Habitat EKC at the same time! Microsoft is hosting a contest to launch Windows 7 called “7 Ways to Change the World.”

“7 Ways to Change the World” gives you the opportunity to secure a $7,000 grant for Habitat EKC. Create a two-minute video explaining how you believe a Windows 7 PC could help a us make a greater impact. There will be 7 winners. If your entry is selected as a winner you will receive a new PC with Windows 7 and a $7,000 grant for Habitat EKC!

Microsoft will publish all the entries online to provide a valuable resource of creative ideas on how technology can help NGOs solve some of society’s most pressing issues.

The competition launched on Wednesday, October 21st 2009 with entries closing on November 11th 2009. There is only a short window of time to work on your entry! Microsoft will announce the 7 winners between November 16th 2009 and November 24th 2009.

Did you miss the Oct. 7 Family Info Meeting?

A second Family Information Meeting will be held at 12:30 p.m. Saturday, October 10 at the Snoqualmie library, located at 7824 Center Blvd SE, Snoqualmie, WA 98065. Families interested in applying for a two-bedroom home in our Koinonia Ridge development (in Snoqualmie) must attend this meeting to learn about Habitat for Humanity's homeownership program. Please join Chrade Younkin, Anne Corning, Ann Marten, Alexander Barnes, David Locke, Lana Van Boven and Thomas Bonin for an evening of fabulous music for a good cause! Six pseudo-professional singers will perform a collection of well-known arias, musical theater ditties, and popular songs. Selections will include excerpts from La Boheme, Carmen, Pirates of Penzance, Java Jive and Deep Purple.

Admission is FREE!

However, this is a BENEFIT CONCERT for Habitat for Humanity, Agros International, and the New Orleans relief efforts. Representatives from each of these agencies will be on hand to offer you more information about what they provide to those in need. Cash, Check, and Credit Card donations will be accepted. If a financial contribution is burdensome for you, bring a canned food item.

Two years ago, they raised nearly $8000. They're hoping to reach $10,000 this year. Help us reach that goal!

To thank you for attending, complimentary autumn brews, assorted wines, soft drinks and Bavarian goodies will be provided both at intermission and after the show.
