C2BUILD: Coalition To Build United in Loving Devotion

Long time supporters of Habitat EKC: Sammamish Presbyterian, Faith United Methodist, Pine Lake Covenant, St. John’s Episcopal, and Bellevue First United Methodist Church are supporting a family that will be living in one of the new duplexes in the Issaquah Highlands. They are providing both the funds to help cover the costs of a home, as well as volunteers to build one Saturday a month.

Together We Build

This interfaith coalition, consisting of Christian, Jewish and Muslim congregations, works together once a year on a Habitat jobsite combining hard work with spiritual dialog, good food, and friendships formed while building together. Representatives from Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, Aldersgate United Methodist, Bellevue Christian, Bothell United Methodist, Eastgate Congregational, I.M.A.N, MAPS, Newport Presbyterian, Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic, St. Joseph Catholic, St. Thomas Episcopal, and Temple B'nai Torah have built together annually on the Habitat for Humanity EKC jobsite. They will celebrate 10 years of working together in September 2011. They raise money throughout the year to contribute to Habitat and then spend a couple of weekends in the fall building together and concluding with an interfaith worship service.

If you or your congregation is interested in joining one of these groups or creating your own coalition, please contact Mary Martin at mary@habitatekc.org.
