Family Advocate Volunteers

Serving as a Family Advocate

Family Advocates are volunteers who are paired with newly selected Partner Families and act as mentors, supporters and motivators to Habitat for Humanity's homeowners. Family Advocates help families to complete their pre-homeownership requirements, attend meetings and workshops, and finish their sweat equity hours. After families move into their new homes, Advocates continue to help by easing the transition into homeownership.

Being a Family Advocate requires an 18-month commitment, but the hours are flexible and the work is immensely rewarding. All you need is the first-hand experience of owning a home and good people skills.

We need Family Advocates for our newly selected families who will be moving into our Patterson Park site just off Avondale Road in Redmond, as well as for families selected for homes in Koinonia Ridge in Snoqualmie. We'll provide training and guidance, all you need to bring is a desire to help. Please complete and submit the Non-construction Individual Volunteer Form indicating your preference to become a Family Advocate.
